How will Merrymead Limit Capacity?
To help control the volume of people for our weekend activities, we will be at Maximum capacity once our parking lot is full. We are not pre-selling admission tickets but still asking that you purchase tickets from our ticket booth upon arrival to participate in any of the Farms daily activities. The 5-acre maze admission can be purchased at the Maze’s entrance. Please be prepared that as we approach the middle to end of month, we experience higher interest in the Farm and all it has to offer this time of year. If you can, try to visit us earlier in the month, or during the weekday (Monday – Friday) when we have limited activities. Once our Parking lot & field is full we will temporarily close parking until we have turnover of people leaving.
Are Masks Required?
We are mainly an outdoor facility with a quaint dairy store and an outside seasonal Market. Our pumpkin corral is outdoors where you can pick-out your very own favorite pumpkin. We understand fall attractions are on everyone’s list of things to do this time of year & Social Distancing will be quite a task for those pushing strollers and chasing those farm loving kiddos around who are so excited to get on that hayride! We encourage face coverings in spaces and activity areas where social distancing cannot be obtained (ex. In line Purchasing Tickets/food, the Hayrides & at the Maze ) . If you are not comfortable around areas where people can not be socially distant, then this may not be the right year for you to visit. We would love for you to come visit us in another season as we are open year round or even next Harvest season!
What is Different for 2020?
This year we have extended our Moonlight Maze nights to Thursday evenings. On Thursday October 15th, 22nd, and 29th the 5-acre maze will be open from 6PM-8PM. We have extended our weekday hours for hayrides and the cornstalk tunnel; Weekday hayrides Monday -Friday 11AM-4PM & Friday evening hayrides 4PM-8PM. Weekday cornstalk tunnel Monday – Thursday 11AM-4PM and Friday 11AM-8PM.
As always we have handwashing stations open on both sides of our dairy store, but we have added additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the farm.
How can we work together?
Please note that we are still a working Dairy Farm. We are getting chores done every day of the year, no matter the season or Holiday. So we will do our best to keep our farm a clean and fun atmosphere where anyone can come and enjoy family fun on the farm.
We do kindly ask for some due diligence on our visitors end. Please do not come to the farm if you or any of your guests are displaying symptoms related to COVID-19. Please be attentive of yourself or members of your group and if they have come in contact with someone who has had recent symptoms of COVID-19 to please not visit the Farm. We understand that not everyone will be comfortable visiting Merrymead this year. With that, we understand for those who may be elderly or immunocompromised that we may not be the right place for you this fall. Even though you will be “Udderly” missed, we would certainly like to see you back next year for our Harvest Season in 2021.
With that said, keep in mind the following:
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. Senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting our farm, you are on behalf of yourself or any invitees, voluntarily assuming all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 or any other disease.
